A few days ago the Royal Photographic Society ( RPS )published their monthly journal in which I along with two other members of the RPS to give three reasons to use Instagram. RPS also published the photo that was chosen by Canon as a finalist of the Canon Iconic image 2015.

I came joint 2nd in the Canon Iconic image competition, with the photo, Pushed aside.

Pushed Aside was taken as I went in behind the riot police at the G8 riots in London. I had slipped in-between the riot police as they made their way down to the main headquarters of the protestors, I followed the Police through, exiting out straight out the other side of the protest and getting photos from the other side of the protest.

Just received and email from Canon to say Ive come second in the, Canon Iconic Images competition,  with the comment from the judges

“Great use of depth of field, focal point and composition make this image particularly powerful. Great observation.”
